The 5300 ships with 8MB of memory soldered to the motherboard. The 5300cs ships with either 8MB or 16MB soldered. The 5300c likewise ships with either 8MB or 16MB soldered. The 5300ce ships with 16MB of memory soldered to the motherboard as well as an Apple factory installed16MB module. Any model of the 5300 with 8MB of RAM soldered can acheive a maximum RAM density of 56MB while any model with 16MB soldered can reach 64MB.
This Mac contains 2048K ROMs, and an Apple 1.44MB SuperDrive that uses high-density floppy disks and reads, writes, and formats Macintosh, Windows, MS-DOS, OS/2, and ProDOS disks.

System software includes CloseView and Easy Access, and provides the ability to substitute visual cue for beep. The 5300 series has the following ports: One Apple Desktop Bus (ADB) port, One serial (RS-422) port, One SCSI port for connecting as many as six external devices (including CD-ROM), One power adapter port, One Stereo sound input port, One Stereo sound output port, and One Video output port.
